What I wore: creative belting

Belts are one of the most underutilized resources in my fashion wardrobe. That’s not to say I don’t have any; I do! Many (IE, most) just never see the light of day. I rarely wear belts with my dresses, as I find tight ones a bit uncomfortable, and I rarely wear them on jeans because I specifically search for jeans that don’t gape at the waist (and when I find those miracle pairs, you better believe I snatch them up!) Every once and a while, though, it is fun to experiment with old pieces. This little belt cost $3.50 at Forever 21, and even though it is ancient and too big for my waist, it works well over my much-loved cape and a few cozy under layers.

Wearing: Forever 21 knit beret and colored belt, gifted cape, Macys tee and TJ Maxx black cardigan underneath, DKNY jeans via TJ Maxx, gifted White Mountain boots, gifted and borrowed jewelry

  1. Love the red with that cape! A charming pop of color.
